Clydach Vale Country Park

Our country park is very popular with locals and visitors. The park lies between Cwmclydach's two lakes and is a haven for birds, flowers and butterflies. Two main routes are available for walkers and cyclists, with several access routes onto the surrounding mountains.

Continued development of the park is one of our priorities over the next few years. Our aim is to improve facilities and habitats that will encourage sustainable, eco-friendly tourism to Cwmclydach.

Hill Walking

The mountains surrounding Cwmclydach are popular with walkers. Our country park is a perfect starting point for any walkers visiting the South Wales valleys with routes leading into the Ogwr, Afan and Rhondda valleys.

Car parking facilities are available at both lakes in Cwmclydach. We are also a short walk from Llwynypia train station... why not take the scenic routes via Glyncornel nature reserve or the famous Scotch Terraces.

For further details on walking routes and facilities please contact us.

Mountain Biking

As well as the country park, the mountains above Blaenclydach and Tonypandy are perfect for cyclists and mountain bikers. The mountain paths are in good condition and the views over Rhondda Fawr are breath-taking. The more adventurous bikers can take the path down into Glyncornel nature reserve, providing a challenging route that leads to Glyncornel Lake and the famous "Scotch Terraces".

Providing new mountain bike routes and facilities is also a key focus for us over the next few years. For further details on our cycle routes and facilities please contact us.

The Lakeside Cafe

Enjoy a refreshing cup of tea (or a cooling pint) with one of best cafe views in South Wales. The Lakeside cafe overlooks the bottom lake and is very popular with both locals and visitors.

It's the perfect watering hole for our active visitors and additional facilities (for washing and storage) are in the process of being installed, making Cwmclydach the perfect choice for visitors.

For further details please contact us.
