Good Weather, Great Turn Out, Fantastic Spring Clean 2008.

Summer's just around the corner and we wanted the country park to look good for both locals and visitors. So on Friday we held a Community Spring Clean. We targeted both lakes and the stream, getting them in peak condition for the public (and inhabitants).

The weather was beautiful and the event was attended by nearly 40 volunteers from the Communities First Partnership, Passion 4 Fellowship, Cwm Clydach Primary School, Keep Wales Tidy, Prime Cymru & the River Care Group.

During the morning session we cleared the bottom lake of nearly all its litter. Lunch was provided by the lovely staff in the Lakeside Cafe. We then ventured up to the top lake for the afternoon session. A team also cleaned up along the stream between the 2 lakes, getting very wet in the process.

We'd like to thank all of those who supported today's project. We hope to return to the Country Park in August for an End of Summer clean-up, setting us on course for the Autumn. If you would like to join us or find out more about what we do, please contact us.
