How green is our valley?
Well it's pretty green and our aim is to make it greener.
Developing and promoting Cwmclydach's natural beauty is what we do...
and we need is the support and involvement of the people of Cwmclydach & the
Rhondda.
We want to encourage the varying habitats of Clydach whilst promoting
sustainable, eco-friendly tourism. The way we see it, if we take care of our
local environment, it will take care of us.
Cwmclydach River Care Group is committed to developing projects that will
help drive our economy forward & inspire pride throughout
Cwmclydach, the Rhondda Valleys and South Wales.
If you want to help take Cwmclydach into the future then please contact
us. Your involvement will be welcomed whatever your ability. We need people
who can:
- Help keep our country park tidy;
- Attend local meetings to develop ideas for the group;
- Promote Cwmclydach through various (new and old) media;
- Fight for the funding that will help us realise our vision.
Interested? Then please contact us.

Projects in Development Clydach Vale Nature Trail
- We're in the process of developing
a routed circular
walk, designed to encourage healthy living and educate visitors to the
Countryside Park about the diverse wildlife and habitats that exist. The
route will be easy to use, including marked way-point posts and a nature
trail brochure/leaflet.
Outdoor Classrooms -
The diversity and
history of Clydach Vale Countryside Park makes it an ideal location for an
outdoor classroom. Our hope is to develop a number of these locations over
the next few years. A bid has already been submitted to develop our first
outdoor classroom, located at the Cambrian Memorial, which remembers the
loss of life in the Cambrian Colliery which once stood where the Countryside
Park is today.
Gateways Project -
A project aimed at
restricting main points of access for motorcycles, which are by law
prohibited from using the site. In order to preserve the countryside park
and it's facilities a series of gates will be installed, preventing access
to the park. |
